RAMALLAH, (PIC)-- The Palestinian National Initiative (PNI), headed by Dr. Mustafa al-Barghuthi called on the PA and the PLO put three conditions for their participation in the autumn conference.
The first of these conditions is for the Israeli occupation government to annul its latest hostile decision towards the Gaza Strip which is meant to lead to more extreme forms of collective punishment.
The second condition, is for the occupation government to freeze all settlement activities, including the extension of existing settlements and the confiscation of new Palestinian lands.
The third condition is the comprehensive halt of building the apartheid wall which will make the establishment of a viable Palestinian state impossible.
The PNI stressed in a statement it published on Thursday that any meeting taking place while these hostile Israeli acts are taking place will be used by Israel to cover for the its policy of creating facts on the ground and the apartheid system it is trying to create instead of the a real sovereign Palestinian state.
The PNI further stressed that the events on the ground proves anew that the Israeli occupation authority is not serious about peace and that it seeks to replace a permanent solution based on ending its occupation of Palestinian lands and the establishment of a Palestinian state on the lands which were occupied in 1967 with partial and transitional solutions.
The PNI also said in the statement "It is strange to be talking about horizons for peace and be preparing for the autumn conference while Israel continues its daily aggressions in Nablus, Jenin, Ramallah and the Gaza Strip."
The PNI renewed its call for Palestinian unity stressing that Israel was taking advantage of the present split within the Palestinian ranks to commit all the crimes it has been committing lately.
