GAZA, (PIC)-- The Islamic Jihad Movement called on the Arab and Islamic nations to revolt against the Zionist schemes to destroy the Aqsa Mosque and judaize occupied Jerusalem, warning that the Palestinian people would never stay passive if the Israeli occupation carried out any of its schemes against the holy Mosque and city. Sheikh Ra'ed Salah, the head of the Islamic Movement in 1948 occupied lands, had produced, Tuesday, Israeli official documents considering the squares of the Aqsa Mosques and the Dome of the Rock as"public plazas" and revealing Zionist intentions to destroy the Aqsa Mosque and other Islamic historical sites in Jerusalem. "When it comes to the Aqsa Mosque, we will sacrifice ourselves for the Aqsa and Jerusalem and all differences will be gone because the Aqsa unites the Muslims' hearts," Waleed Hilles, the spokesman for the Movement, highlighted. Hilles underlined that the Israeli occupation takes advantage of the escalating inter-Palestinian discord and the faltering attempts to restore unity to push its schemes through in order to impose a fait accompli and then use it in negotiations for a final peace settlement. He underscored that the Israeli occupation also uses the negotiations with the PA to cover up for its malicious schemes against the holy Mosque and city, stressing the need for stopping these frivolous talks. For its part, the Jerusalem committee in the ministry of endowments and religious affairs in Gaza, warned Wednesday of the gravity of Israeli intentions to build a synagogue in the Buraq plaza in occupied Jerusalem, adding that there are other Zionist plans to modify Islamic historical buildings and use them as synagogues. The committee also strongly denounced the UNESCO for issuing a decision lately allowing the IOA to renovate the Aqsa Mosque, asserting that the UNESCO abused the international principles and legitimacy by passing such a serious decision which legitimizes the Israeli occupation and let it loose on the Aqsa Mosque. It also deplored the IOA for demolishing the Maghareba road in order to build a military bridge to facilitate the passage of Israeli armored vehicles and bulldozers to destroy the Aqsa Mosque. The committee appealed to the Arab and Islamic ministries of religious affairs and the organization of the Islamic conference to immediately intervene to stop these racist and aggressive actions which target the Islamic creed and civilization, calling for holding an emergency Islamic summit to discuss the UNESCO positions and the Israeli grave moves against the Aqsa Mosque. |
